Workshop - One-day

The governance of Livelink is a topic of considerable interest and importance. This workshop is designed as a structured discussion and guidance of the governance and management of Livelink. During the group presentations and smaller dialogue breakout sessions, many of the topics associated with Livelink Governance: organizational models, roles and responsibilities, taxonomy, security and permission models, and the significance of Sarbanes-Oxley to name a few, will be gathered and centralized. Come prepared to participate and share your experiences!

U-TR-213 Troubleshooting and Supporting Your Livelink System

Standard Course - One-day

In this one day workshop, discover key troubleshooting techniques, while learning how to extract, interpret, and analyze information using Livelink's Administration interface and connection logs.

Learn to recognize server issues, database connectivity and indexing problems. Resolve common questions from end users and structure an effective help response system. Perform exercises that train you to troubleshoot and resolve database and system problems.
Provide high-level Administrative and Help desk support for a mature Livelink System.
Identify different types of Livelink errors and their origin.
Understand the differences among Server errors, DB errors and Search errors.
Understand the different logging options in the Admin GUI and the opentext.ini.file.
Develop a Livelink troubleshooting methodology.
Educate your help desk in how to resolve basic Livelink issues and develop a Help Desk FAQ.
Understand all the resources provided in the Knowledge Center.

Prerequisites: Livelink System Administration Course or equivalent experience managing a Livelink system. Students will be making many configuration changes in the course exercises and should be familiar with the Administration pages and the opentext.ini.file.

U-TR-223 Designing and Implementing Livelink Forms

Standard Course - One-day

The Livelink Designing and Implementing Livelink Forms teaches participants how to create and use HTML forms with the Livelink Forms module:
Create and edit Web forms using a variety of attribute types.
Design HTML "skins" to provide a customized look and feel to the forms.
Configure Web forms to provide easy data entry and retrieval, stored either in separate database tables or as Livelink items.
Replace workflow tasks with Web forms to provide end users with familiar look and feel.
Include Web forms in a workflow package, and route based on values in a form field.
Write LiveReports to query data submitted using Web forms.

U-TR-220 Workflow Design II

Standard Course - One-day

This course builds on topics introduced in the Workflow Design I course. In this course you will expand your knowledge of Livelink workflow.

Our detailed examples and exercises include the following:
Incorporate advanced user assignment options, such as roles, mulitiple performers and conditional statements to assign tasks.
Create routing paths using advanced routing options, including mulitple true paths.
Incorporate loopback routing paths to reflect recursive porcesses.
Create modular workflows using subworkflows.
Automate certain tasks using the process step.
Use LiveReports to monitor workflow status and tracking.

U-TR-221 Workflow Design III

Standard Course - One-day

This course builds on topics introduced in the Workflow Design I and Workflow Design II courses. It uses a workshop format to illustrate the advanced details of a special workflow step called the item handler.

In this course you will expand your knowledge of the item handler step, learning through detailed content how to use this feature to automatically perform the following operations in Livelink:
Create folders in a Livelink container or in the workflow attachments volume.
Add, modify, or delete categories on Livelink items.
Change the current values of workflow attributes.
Perform versioning on documents and compound documents.
Move or copy workflow attachments or Livelink items outside the workflow.
Information also will be provided to highlight the system administrative responsibilities associated with the item handler step.

U-TR-224 Livelink eForms Design

Standard Course - One-day

In this course you will expand your knowledge of Livelink ECM - eForms Management and its integration with Livelink.

Course Overview:
Understanding how to implement a Livelink forms solution, from designing an eForm to routing a Livelink form through a workflow.
Navigating the eForms Management Designer application.
Developing a familiarity with the shapes in the eForms Management Designer application, and using them to design an eForm, replete with database lookups and other advanced functionality.
Integrating an eForm into a Livelink form template and establishing database storage for the Livelink forms.
Developing Livelink forms and routing them through a workflow process, using custom views to alter the Livelink form interface for various workflow participants.
Information also will be provided to highlight the system administrative responsibilities associated with the item handler step.
