BASIS Administrator 1: Advanced DBA/SA

Want to become an expert in less than an hour? Well, this session will start you on your way. Learn the tips and tricks of advanced DBA/SA. Topics will include DMOLB, the new online backup utility, and highlights from the pre-conference training session. Remember to bring questions and topics for discussion.

 

BASIS Administrator 2: BASIS PROCS and Scripting Tools

Presenter: 
Lori Hunter - Caliber Assoc.

The scope of this SIG has been expanded to include Perl and VB. Lori Hunter of Caliber Associates will share a proc that produces KWIC/KWOC listings. Programmers, bring your code to share.

 

BASIS Administrator 3: Care and Feeding of your BASIS Database

Presenter: 
Theresa Wilson - Unisys

Times: 
Tues. 11:00-11:45a.m.

Don't learn the hard way. Attend this session for advice on ensuring database integrity with good design, journaling and backups. This session sets the scene for the Unix and NT SIGs, where your discussions can continue with platform specific considerations.

Tues. 12:45-1:30p.m.

The SIG will convene following the session "Care and Feeding of your BASIS Database" and will continue with platform specific considerations for database maintenance. Possible discussion topics include DMOLB, automating backups, running batch jobs, dumping/reloading and Unix upgrades.

 

BASIS Administrator 5: Linux SIG
