Open Text and Oracle Complete a New Content Solutions Partnership

Open Text has signed an important technology sharing and distribution agreement with Oracle. The agreement will leverage a broad range of Oracle platform technologies to deliver a new suite of Enterprise Content Management solutions for archiving, e-Discovery, and legal risk mitigation.

Open Text is obtaining a comprehensive license to proven Oracle technology. This will allow us to fully utilize the capabilities of the Oracle database as an enterprise content repository. In addition, it will also permit rapid uptake of Oracle Fusion Middleware and other Oracle platform capabilities. This Oracle-based product suite will allow organizations to capture large volumes of emails, documents, images, and application data as well as manage their entire lifecycle in an integrated, secure, and cost-effective environment. This will help organizations with expanding requirements for legal e-Discovery and regulatory compliance and will also help control storage and operational costs—while improving the user experience.

This new product suite will bring together Open Text’s industry-proven archiving and e-Discovery expertise with the Oracle platform to deliver an information management environment of unmatched scalability, performance, and robustness. A single instance of the planned archiving environment is capable of capturing and managing billions of emails, messages, documents, and images as well as terabytes of application data, with support available for most popular front-end applications.

The combination of Open Text archiving experience with the Oracle platform brings an entirely new class of capabilities to the marketplace. The explosion in the number of e-mails, messages, documents, and images that enterprises need to deal with—combined with the expanded legal and governance requirements associated with this information— brings the need for true enterprise archiving to the forefront of the content management space. Leveraging Oracle technology, Open Text is able to integrate our expertise and industry knowledge to create offerings that are affordable, quick to deploy, and deliver the enterprise-level capabilities that companies need.
