Open Text Content Lifecycle Management Services for Microsoft SharePoint 10.1 Released!

Open Text CLM Services for Microsoft SharePoint enables organizations to centrally manage content created in SharePoint, in accordance with regulatory and business requirements. Furthermore, many organizations deploy SharePoint in a decentralized, departmental manner, oriented toward meeting user requirements. Open Text effectively enables organizations to balance that equation, excelling at enterprise-focused and global deployments that accommodate the needs of corporate compliance and centralized IT, without compromising user productivity.

CLM Services for SharePoint is certified to meet internationally recognized U.S. Department of Defense's (DoD) Standard for Records Management certification (DoD 5015.2-STD V3). It provides highly scalable facilities to automatically or interactively ingest content from SharePoint into the Open Text managed repository, and once business information can be managed centrally, its lifecycle can be controlled in accordance with internal policies and external regulations.

This version introduces many exciting new features, including:

Enhanced link management and synchronization – This version introduces complete synchronization between managed content in the Open Text repository, and the shortcuts and permissions associated with how that content is accessed from SharePoint. When documents in one environment are removed, CLM Services for SharePoint immediately reconciles the discrepancy, ensuring the appropriate actions are taken—from shortcut clean up to permissions modification.

Simplified custom development – This version also introduces a Custom Provider feature, which enables organizations to more readily extend the solution to facilitate a variety of tasks including archiving SharePoint lists, handling custom user mappings, creating custom links, and initiating incremental archiving, among other tasks.
