Enterprise Server Moving the Indexes, Migrating to New Hardware
This Champion Toolkit document provides a technical overview of the steps for moving the Livelink ECM – Enterprise Server (LES) 9.7.1 index from one location to another using three different case scenarios. This document can also be used to assist in the migration of LES to new server hardware.
This document is broken up into three Case Studies:
- Moving an Index and Data Flow to a new directory on the Admin server.
- Moving an Index and Data Flow to a new Admin server, with the option of leaving the old Admin server as a front-end Web server, or retiring the original server.
- Moving an Index and Data Flow to a new folder structure on a new Admin server.
Case Study scenarios B and C can be used in a migration to new hardware, and/or for switching server roles from a back end to a front end. There is also a method for retiring an existing server.
It is recommended that these procedures be used on a test system in advance of implementation on a production system. This allows for practice, and also increases your level of comfort with the process before implementation.
