Open Text is pleased to announce Open Text Rendition Server 9.7.1 (formerly, Open Text Rendition Services and Livelink ECM- Archive Rendition Server) is now available!

What is Open Text Rendition Server?

When archiving documents for long-term storage, businesses need to ensure that files will be readable in the future, despite changes to computer applications, platforms, and file formats. Common file types, like Microsoft Word documents, can change drastically in appearance as operating systems and productivity applications evolve, and in some cases, may even become unreadable. Only certain file formats, including TIFF, PDF, and PDF/A can provide the relative stability and consistency required for long-term document archiving and storage.

Open Text Rendition Server is an option for Open Text offerings that contain Open Text Archive Server (see list below). It generates standardized document renditions from over 300 source file formats. By implementing Open Text Rendition Server, you can convert paper and electronic documents such as invoices, contracts, and emails into a standard long-term format, ensuring that your organization can reliably access and read the content, even after having been archived for decades. Rendition Server can also run Optical Character Recognition (OCR) against images to create searchable PDF documents or plain text files. With Open Text Rendition Server, you can address regulatory and legal requirements that place strict demands on the readability of archived records.
